ChCHCHCHanges

ArJay and I went to the class dinner tonight for his graduation from the police academy. It was amazing, inspiring, and a little scary watching the video they made with clips of what happened. I am even more in awe of what he has done and can't believe he will be a bonafide officer tomorrow. Who knows what this will bring to our lives....

In completely unrelated news, I might be becoming addicted to this blogging thing. Especially little girl hairstyle ones and crafty ones. Kind of ironic since ALianna still has a pseudo mullet and can barely get two piggies and I can't even really sew very straight. BUT I have high aspirations for both and I am digging the tutorials and giveaways. Fairy Wonderful is giving away a little girl's pettiskirt! My only question, does it come in my size?? And The Dress-up drawer has weeklong giveway awesomeness happening.

Alianna's (ear)aches

Our poor little girl has had so many ear infections that we have been sent to an ear specialist, which basically means the poor girl will be getting tubes. I know it's going to make life so much nicer for all concerned, but I'm such a baby about my baby. I'll try to schedule it so ArJay has to come and restrain arms and legs( as in mine, not hers).

Another ache associated with Alianna would be my headache after church. I don't know if it's becuase she walked early and is thus sneakier and more mobile that most 14 month olds,or too much ADD like her dad, or I am just a bad mom or what, but I heard about 2 minutes of relief society today. I made one of those little rice bag thingies with the viewing window and little dotads inside( this is the technical term, but for those confused I'll take a pic later) to distract her without noise and flashing lights. It worked for 2 minutes( the time I heard the lesson), but then the piano and/or trash backoned her. Any suggestions??
How do you say no to a face like that though??Thanks to grandma Weir for the cute outfit.

Tutus, tumbling, and trash oh my!

So I am determined that this time I really will do better at blogging at least once a week. I know that like 3 of my 4 posts say that, but now that we have early church I am determined to post on Sunday afternoons..

We started Alianna's Movers and Shakers class with the parks and rec today. It was hilarious. Highlights include Alianna laughing her head off and clapping while the other kids cried sitting in the parachute, going thru the tunnel about 50 times, and the look of true elation on Alianna's face when she found a princess ball amongst the 30 other balls. The princess ball reminded me of a project I had sitting in the garage for "when she's older". I was walking around Joanns one day and saw tulle on sale for 75 cents a yard. In a moment of mania and/or brillance I decided that I was going to make her a tutu when she was older and started getting into princesses and dress up. After the elation over the princess ball today I decided there was no time like the present. One hour of naptime later and voila! It isn't the most beautiful tutu I've ever seen but Alianna thinks it's AWESOME!Even as we were changing into jammies for bed she had to have it back on and dance around a little more.In closing I'd like to impart some knowledge we learned the hard way. In a home with a one year old, it is not smart to throw away a cool whip container that still has a little on the sides. It is even less smart to throw said container in a trash can that is easily accessible to said one year old while your mistakenly think you can run to the bathroom for "just a minute"....I'm not sure the pics do it justice. She had licked around the bowl she that the other end got in her hair or on her shirt. One big sticky mess..
